Wahl

The Wahl company was founded in 1919 on the strength of Leo J. Wahl's patent for an electromagnetic hair clipper. In 1965 Wahl introduced the first vacuum clipper, and in 1967 it produced the first cordless clipper for professional use with its own rechargeable battery. In 1984 a beard & moustache trimmer became available for the consumer market. Wahl manufactures its clippers and trimmers in its own factories in Sterling, Illinois; Germany, England, China and Hungary.
