The Fatip razor was created during the 1950s, during a period of economic & cultural revival known as the Milanese economic boom. In the 80s, Ilario Fazzini, transferred production to Premana (Como) and re-launches the FATIP brand from the original designs, keeping the original aesthetic features, while introducing innovative manufacturing processes to increase quality and performance. Premana, is still today, an epicentre of Italian craftsmanship, a "cult" district where handmade cutting objects are considered unique and exclusive. (see Alpen)
Today Fatip is renowned and loved the world over for its style, handling and precision which combine ease of use and inherent safety. The metal used is brass, which is machined by the artisans of Premana, once formed it is then plated with a variety of finishes. The razors are recognisable by the original “open comb” head, which guarantees a perfect, clean shave for every type of facial hair. Today, the Fatip razor range also includes the Gentle “closed comb” head for a more delicate, easy shave.
